I think almost everyone loves to eat homemade bread, but not everyone enjoys the effort it takes to make it. Well, if that describes you, then may I introduce you to *English Muffin Bread.
In less than two hours (including stirring, rising and baking), you can be taking two loaves of delicious, yeasty bread out of your oven.
This no-knead bread is similar to English muffins in texture--light and chewy with holes for soaking up whatever you spread on it. It's great toasted, of course, but also makes a fantastic French toast.
I only just discovered English Muffin Bread, but it is already a family favorite in our home.
*The recipe I use is from Cook's Country. It's free, but requires registration on their site.
Edited on 1/7/16: Only current recipes on Cook's Country can be viewed with free registration. I believe you must now pay a subscription fee to see this recipe on their site. I found the same recipe posted here, with slightly different wording.
I've been looking for an English Muffin Bread recipe - thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of recipes out there. This was the first one I tried and it was so good, I didn't try any others. I like that it uses bread flour and make enough for two loaves.
DeleteI Have to try your recipe. A friend in nursing school made this type of bread and it was delicious. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI have been enjoying English Muffin Bread most of my life. It's great stuff!!

It sure is! I don't know why I never heard about this bread before, but I'm glad I know about it now.
